ULISES "CHEESE" RODRIGUEZ
(Mexico City - 1985) - Artistic Director | Lead Vocalist | Accordion Player | Jaranero
Ulises started his musical career in 2002 with a group named "Mad Marionettes". His interest in the arts originated at an early age, He was initially influenced by his father who is a painter and muralist, as well as a boleros guitar player. Throughout the years he has worked on poetry, acting, dance and several musical projects that now influence his compositions and performances with "El Santo Golpe".
Some of his work has being recognized in media such as "IE Weekly", "LA Weekly", "OC Weekly" and had the opportunity of showing his work at the world recognized theater of "Bellas Artes" in Mexico City (2016).

Ulises empezó su carera musical en el 2002 con un grupo llamado “Mad Marionettes”. Su interés en las artes originó desde muy temprana edad. El fue influenciado al principio por su padre el cual es pintor y muralista, y también músico de boleros. Durante los años, él ha trabajado en diferentes proyectos artísticos, desde poesía, actuación, danza, y proyectos musicales que ahora son gran parte de la influencia para las composiciones y presentaciones con El Santo Golpe.
Algunos de sus proyectos y trabajos han sido reconocidos en medios de comunicación, así como IE Weekly, OC Weekly, LA Weekly, podcasts, y tubo la oportunidad de presentar algunas composiciones en el mundialmente reconocido Teatro de Bellas Artes en la Ciudad de México (2016).
ROXANNA VALTIERRA
(Mexicali, Baja California México - 1987) - Vocalist | Jaranera | Percussionist
Roxanna is a passionate artist and musician whose journey began during the 2019 pandemic when she taught herself to play the ukulele, that later translated to playing Jarana and other percussive instruments such as the güiro. Deeply inspired by her Mexican and Native American heritage, as well as the rich folklore of Latin American music, she now performs with El Santo Golpe, sharing her vibrant vocals and cultural roots on stage. Through her art and music, Roxanna celebrates the stories and traditions that shape her identity.
ROXANNA VALTIERRA
(Mexicali, Baja California México - 1987) - Vocalista | Jaranera | Percusionista
Roxanna es una artista y música apasionada cuyo viaje comenzó durante la pandemia de 2019 cuando aprendió por sí misma a tocar el ukelele, lo que luego se tradujo en tocar la jarana y otros instrumentos de percusión incluyendo el güiro. Profundamente inspirada por su herencia mexicana y nativa americana, así como por el rico folklore de la música latinoamericana, ahora actúa con El Santo Golpe, comparte su vibrante voz y sus raíces culturales en el escenario. A través de su arte y música, Roxanna celebra las historias y tradiciones que dan forma a su identidad.
JUAN ANTONIO REYES
(San Miguel, Estado de México - 1977) - Percussionist | Jaranero | Vocals
Juan Antonio Reyes is the heartbeat behind the vibrant sounds of El Santo Golpe. With years of experience in Afro-Caribbean music, he brings a deep passion for Afro-Cuban culture to every performance. Grew up immersed in the rhythms of legendary bands like La Sonora Matancera, Pérez Prado, and Acerina y su Danzonera, Juan’s love for music is infectious. When he’s not on stage, you can find him brewing his own Kombucha and sharing his passion with everyone who comes out to enjoy the unique sounds of El Santo Golpe.
JUAN ANTONIO REYES
(San Miguel, Estado de México - 1977) - Percusionista | Jaranero | Vocalista
Juan Antonio Reyes es el alma de los vibrantes sonidos de El Santo Golpe. Con años de experiencia en la música afrocaribeña, transmite una profunda pasión por la cultura afrocubana en cada presentación. Inmerso en los ritmos de bandas legendarias como La Sonora Matancera, Pérez Prado y Acerina y su Danzonera, su amor por la música es contagioso. Cuando no está en el escenario, lo puedes encontrar preparando su propia kombucha y compartiendo su pasión con todos los que se acercan a disfrutar de los sonidos únicos de El Santo Golpe.
JAVIER "COLIBRI" NUNEZ
(Nuevo León, Mexico - 1987) - Bassist | Vocalist
Javier grew up with music from an early age, always exploring the sounds of different genres that now inspire him to share this love on stage. Javier grew up playing piano and bass, performing in different groups such as La Tremenda Korte, Cerebro Negro, ZODRHI, Sorcery, and now gets to share his musical talents with El Santo Golpe
For Javier, music is therapy that allows him to express his emotions, from good to bad, happy to sad, and embrace the great things that life has to offer.
JAVIER "COLIBRI" NUNEZ
(Nuevo León, Mexico - 1987) - Bajista | Vocalista
Javier creció con la música desde pequeño, explorando constantemente los sonidos de diferentes géneros musicales, lo que lo inspira a compartir esta pasión en el escenario. Javier creció tocando el piano y el bajo, participando en diferentes grupos como La Tremenda Korte, Cerebro Negro, ZODRHI, y Sorcery. Ahora, el comparte su talento musical con El Santo Golpe.
Para Javier, la música es una terapia que le permite expresar sus emociones, desde las buenas hasta las malas, desde la alegría hasta la tristeza, y apreciar las maravillas que la vida nos ofrece.
EDGAR ROBLES
(Los Angeles, CA, USA - 1983) - Guitarist | Multi0Instrumentalist
Edgar’s musical journey started as a teenager, exploring the art of hip hop and house music by way of Dj’ing and the production possibilities utilizing turntables. Always drawn to the producer role, and the idea of blending sounds to create a musical landscape. The drum kit, keyboards and guitars soon became tools to creating his own ideas, later incorporating a multi track digital recorder to capture the sound.
His recent work is presented as Sacred Sound Library where his music varies from an electronic to an acoustic hip-hop/rhythm & blues sensibility creating groove based instrumental canvases. Also, currently playing guitar with the Afro-Latin ensemble Buyepongo, whose foundation is exploring diasporic sounds and rhythms, and now sharing his talents with El Santo Golpe.
EDGAR ROBLES
(Los Angeles, CA, USA - 1983) - Guitarrista | Multiinstrumentista
La trayectoria musical de Edgar comenzó en su adolescencia, explorando el arte del hip hop y el house a través de su experiencia como DJ y las posibilidades de producción con toca-discos. Siempre se sintió atraído por el rol de productor y la idea de fusionar sonidos para crear un paisaje musical. La batería, los teclados y las guitarras acústicas pronto se convirtieron en herramientas para crear sus propias ideas, incorporando posteriormente una grabadora digital multi-pista para capturar el sonido.
Su trabajo reciente se presenta como Sacred Sound Library, donde su música abarca desde la electrónica hasta el rhythm & blues acústico, creando lienzos instrumentales con un toque de groove. Actualmente toca la guitarra con el ensamble afro-latino Buyepongo, cuya base es la exploración de sonidos y ritmos diaspóricos, y ahora brinda sus talentos con El Santo Golpe.
